This may be getting a little political, but whatever. Two instances of recent falsehoods. Jack Welch- Mr. Righteous- immediately trashing the 7.8 figure- as resulting from manipulation by the O'bama administration- and the boys in Chicago. There are many, many people on both sides of the aisle, that will tell you that the Bureau of Labor Statistics does not participate in political machinations- much to the displeasure of politicians. And this accusation emanating from a former CEO of a company that shortly after his departure was the subject of SEC accounting fraud accusations. Jack knew how he played the game- and figures everyone else plays it also. The other recent example of chutzpah, was the performance by Willard Romney, during the presidential debate Wednesday evening. Listen, I know every politician puts their own spin on everything- and even stretches the truth to varying degrees. But the performance by "Mitt" was way beyond stretching. The man chose Wednesday night basically to change his stance on virtually everything that has come out of his mouth the past several months. And I can only imagine what the right wing members of his Party's Congressmen were thinking as he spoke. Something along the lines of- Hey, if he can win the election saying these things- G-D bless- but I sure hope that he doesn't think we are going to go along, if he wins. And amazingly, O'bama, with the obvious strategy of his genius advisers weighing on him- to run out the clock on this election via the debate, even though there is still a month to go, was perplexed, to put it kindly. I can only imagine what was going through the mind of Larry Summers as he watched the debate. Larry is known for not suffering fools gladly- and according to many, the category of fools is anyone not named Larry Summers. Well, Barack and his advisers certainly made Larry's list of fools.
